What If ... ?

This entry is brought forward by Azer Leadership Unfounded.

What if ...? Now that is a very good question!

On 19th September, 2007, a video clip was released here revealing the depths of degradation into which our judiciary has sunk. The video is said to be recorded back in year 2002 and guess who was the Prime Minister?

Not surprisingly, the Pro-Mahathir Online-Journalists (Ooopppsss ... they do call themselves as bloggers) are quite quiet regarding the issue.

Ironically, these are the Online Journalists (Ooopppsss ... they do call themselves as bloggers) whom all the while have been promoting Justice, Liberty, bla bla bla.

What if ... and what if a question is raised on them regarding the issue? ... The probable answers would be as follows:

1) Oh come on! The video might not be genuine! You know how technology nowadays can be used to manipulate! Remember Vijandran?!
2) We are still mourning on Nurin :-( ... Al-Fatihah.
3) Don't you have a heart? The man has just recovered from his heart surgery!
4) We don't know. We are not aware of it.
5) You are certainly not a muslim. The man has just recovered from his heart surgery and by right you should wish him well.
6) They were just talking over the phone. Probably it was meant for a joke! You know, friends do joke around right?
7) It was not his fault! He was manipulated! Long live legacy! Long live legacy!
8) So what? It does not mean anything! We have 'No Fear'!
9) He is our hero! He is a legend! Popularity is more important than justice!
10) You won't understand the situation. He is the most misunderstood person!
11) Lingam? Is that the one who is selling curry powder?
12) The video is yet to be determined as genuine.
13) Melayu mudah lupa. (The Malays tend to forget).
14) Perjuangan masih belum selesai. (The struggle has not yet over).
15) According to the rule of law, anybody is not guilty until proven otherwise.
16) Oh, that is politics. You won't understand.
17) Sometimes, for the sake of the country, justice has to be sacrificed.
18) I am so sure he has nothing to do with it.
19) Not relevant!
20) None of your business!
21) Asking this question simply shows you are not a grateful person.
22) Stupid question. We love him so we won't condemn him.

Now ... what if the video is genuine? Who should repent now?

What if ...? Now that is a good question :-)

Where Are The Points?

Please do not absorb whatever is written as I myself suck big time at work :-)

My daughter came home for the weekend. She was doing her assignment so I made her sit down with me learning how executives really use Microsoft PowerPoint for presentations.

The Name is PowerPoint So It Is About Giving Out Points

No doubt PowerPoint makes it easier for a presentation but unfortunately it tempts students to do it completely wrong.

Yes, there needs to be a point. Actual data are not the points. Actual data are not the information. Got it? During a presentation, you really don't want to burden the executives with details. Details are distracting. Details are irrelevant in any kind of presentation.

Action Please

PowerPoint is a presentation not a hand-out. A good PowerPoint presentation then is a good action. No no no no no, this does not mean the presentation has to be like A Fantastic Mr. Loba Loba Bombastic with words coming out of nowhere jumping here and there BUT an action always have it's own foundation. It has it's own initial state. This is where the most important points are laid out. From the initial state, an action start to act and react and flows. The presentation should show why it is presented in the first place anyway.

The Statistics

Believe it or not, statistics is information but real figures are not. It is wise to present a main figure though but not figures in details. Presenting the statistics is a good way to advance an argument or defense. Statistics adds credibility.

Be very careful though when dealing with percentages. Remember, 50% is not twice as good as 25%. In fact, it may be 20 times as good depending on what kind of situation you are talking about. Tricky? Think!

The Charts/Diagrams

Executives love charts and diagrams. Use any relevant charts and diagrams that may help in the presentation. Remember, a picture paints thousands and thousands of words.

Conclusion

A presentation without a conclusion is not a presentation. Executives give presentation because they want something. A presentation has to be concluded and demanding something.

Accuracy

Remember when I said details are not information? I lied! Ha ha ha ha ha. Details are very important in any presentation but should not be included in any presentation. Tricky? Present your details only as hand-outs. Any good executives would ask something like this: Give me the data. So share with them the hand-outs. Hand-outs are usually given at the end of a presentation.

Happy Ramadhan

Ramadhan (Ramadan) is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar. It's when Muslims all over the world spend 30 days fasting and bettering themselves in principles of faith.Muslims are also expected to put more effort into following the teachings of Islam by refraining from sexual intercourse (only during fasting ... phewww), violence, anger, envy, greed, lust, angry and sarcastic retorts, and gossip (too bad for the politicians and the journalists and myself too included).
.
People are meant to try to get along with each other better than they normally might (so stop burning the flag you idiot! ... ooppss ... don't mind my word). All obscene and irreligious sights and sounds are to be avoided. Purity of both thought and action is important.
The fast is an exacting act of deep personal worship in which Muslims seek a raised level of closeness to God. The act of fasting is said to redirect the heart away from worldly activities, its purpose being to cleanse the inner soul and free it from harm.
.
Fasting during Ramadan is not obligatory for several groups for whom it would be excessively problematic. Children before the onset of puberty are not required to fast, though some do. However, if puberty is delayed, fasting becomes obligatory for males and females after a certain age. According to the Quran, if fasting would be dangerous to someone's health, such as a person with an illness or medical condition (this can include the elderly), that person is excused. The reason Muslims fast is to discipline their body and mind.
.
The absence of food and drink and other pleasures provides a perfect opportunity to concentrate on prayer and worship. Not having the luxuries of life to hand makes it easier to reflect on life and be grateful for what we do have. Muslims use this month to start afresh and give their life a new direction.

Schmoochy Time

The 'Power of Schmooze Award'

is The Award for bloggers who “effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello - all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship".

Krystyna has awarded me the above award though I think I am way not as described. Krystyna must have had her own special way in looking into others so on behalf of visitors who come to my blogs and those blogs I visited, I am honoured and accept this award willingly.

I am limited to award five(5) others but how I wish it is unlimited. As far as blogging goes as Guys of SiPM have put it where everybody has the right to fight, poke, criticise, lambast, debate, duel, challenge, castigate, grumble, mumble, complain, groan, moan, whinge and whine. That is part of the Malaysian and also World experience. Peter however is also correct for practicing the rights mentioned without hurting anyone's feeling is something very hard to do. Respect then is still an element everybody should possess.

So without further delay, the awards go to:

Angel Eyes - She represents what this award is all about. She has so many goodness combined. She is among the earliest visitors who still stick around. I do wonder where does the strength come from as I have been nasty and flirty with my words toward her. This award too honours all the blogs she has visited and blogs which have direct link with hers :-)

13may - He is my HERO and my SIFU. I am at 43 but it amazes me on how much I can learn from this young man who specializes in Man-Woman thingy. He puts his views wisely and with a lot of respect yet the facts and truths reveal. He is a very active blogger who does not fail visiting those who drop by his thus makes everybody happy :-) This award too honours all the blogs he has visited and his visitors.

Deepak Gopi - Mr. Gopi is my first visitor outside of other region. Without question, he is friendly and demonstrates what blogging is all about - The whole world can come together :-)

David Santos - Mr. Santos is everywhere on the planet :-) A very concern person regarding humanity.

Peter - Mr.Olson's blog is a must for everybody as the whole Paris is there. Underestimate his artistic photography not as it shows his sharpness on his observation. Underestimate his curiosity not as it is virtue :-)

There! To all bloggers in the blogosphere ... Joy Our Differences :-)
